A Flurry of Flashes at the Kummert GmbH Booth
“Is this broken or intended?“ was the first question many visitors asked when they saw the enhanced crawler. Yes! This is intended and, on top of that, facilitates a brilliant image quality. The crawler’s LEDs are switched on only when they are absolutely needed: namely while recording the 25 images per second. Inbetween, they are switched off to save energy. To the viewer, this procedure is a series of fast and rather bright flashes - the so-called strobe effect. Moreover, the improved design boasts easy-to-clean corners and edges, as well as additional weights for more stability. The nitrogen filling ensures the camera’s leak-tightness.
Visitors also got a first glimpse at version 2011.1 for can3D® and CamMobile® Profi 3. The release is scheduled for the end of April. Manholes can now be drawn in a rectangular shape, and pipelines can be displayed inside a manhole. The site plan module was restructured and extended by a number of functions. Furthermore, the process of how to measure laterals was simplified. Many users were thrilled and had to give these changes an instant try. For this, several PC workplaces and branched pipe systems were available.
The test track was also utilized by CamFlex® greenhorns. They wanted to see right on site whether the camera indeed navigates laterals as quickly and easily as their fellow workers have been claiming. Of course, everyone accomplished this at their first or second try.
The Kummert GmbH thank the many visitors very much for their great interest and three wonderful and successful days. Furthermore, we’d like to thank the company Umwelttechnik Hoffmann for their recurring and excellent assistance.

An international audience and diverse interest groups define the Trade Fair Wasser Berlin International 2011. Only those who offer a flexible and versatile product succeed here. And these are exactly the qualities that make the CamMobile® line stand out.
Kummert GmbH offers everything from axial cameras for the inspection of pipes starting at DN50 to the crawler for surveying pipes up to DN800. Not only a broad spectrum of diameters makes the system flexible, but also its ability to adapt to the most diverse situations in a fast and uncomplicated manner. All cameras for the CamMobile® Profi 3 are interchangeable. The reel is hooked in, the camera is mounted and the survey can already start. If conditions change, the system can be equipped with a different camera in no time at all.
Service providers are also confronted with a variety of tasks. One time, it is a speedy status survey that is needed; another time the dimension or pipe run is to be determined as well. For all this, the CamMobile® Profi 3 is ideally equipped. Featuring user-friendly software, it guides the operator through the entry of project data and recording of damage. The pan and tilt camera K-70L measures the nominal diameter via laser. Using the CamFlex® enables the user to create a 3D plan of the pipe network during inspection.
The software can3D® completes the CamMobile® line. Quickly and easily, reports can be generated and projects burned to DVDs. And to top this off: The 3D graphics can be supplemented with plans and drawings and displayed in either 2D or 3D.

This year again, Kummert GmbH attracted a great number of visitors at IFAT ENTSORGA 2010 in Munich. CEO Bernhard Kummert and his team spent the time with each customer and interested visitor, whether to give individual and extensive advice or just to chat over a cup of coffee.
Once again, the mobile inspection system CamMobile® Profi 3 was in the spotlight, particularly in combination with the lateral-negotiating camera CamFlex® and the corresponding software can3D®. Many visitors were interested in the system’s velocity and user-friendliness and enjoyed navigating the camera through one of the test pipe networks in a matter of seconds, thus creating a 3D plan, which could be viewed and edited during and after the inspection with the software can3D®.
Furthermore, the crawler prototype was showcased and will be developed further using the numerous suggestions and ideas by our fair visitors. The crawler’s design, as well as the concept of just one adjustable arm that can cover a spectrum of diameters, proved to be the right way to go. The fact that the crawler will be compatible with the CamMobile® Profi 3 was met with great approval.
We would like to thank all visitors, who made the IFAT ENTSORGA 2010 a fantastic and successful event. Special thanks to the company Umwelttechnik Hoffmann GmbH for their active support at our fair booth.
13-17 Sep 2010

Entsorga-Enteco, the international leading trade fair for recycling economy and environmental technology, opened its gates in Cologne, Germany for four days on 27th Oct 2009. In addition to the German specialist audience, more and more international visitors were interested in product innovations and established solutions in the field of inspections of complex sewer systems.
Two generously proportioned fair booths offered the Kummert GmbH employees plenty of space for individual and intensive service to fair visitors. And as expected, a product innovation made by Kummert was showcased again: the CamMobile® Profi 3 for the inspection of branched pipes and complex sewer systems. This base unit stands for innovative CCTV inspection at the highest level. Its modular structure makes the device versatile. Unlike the CamMobile® Profi II, project data can be entered even prior to an inspection. Negotiated pipes display in a real-time, 3D pipe plan parallel to the live image on the monitor during inspection, thus enabling the user to verify the documented damage and pipe properties. The recorded data is exported to a USB thumb drive after the inspection and can be handed on without requiring further editing in the office.
The optionally integrable battery pack was well received by trade fair visitors. It facilitates a battery-supplied operation of the base unit for 4 to 6 hours. After only a two-hour-long charging process, the battery pack is ready to be used again.
At the request of many customers, the CamMobile® Profi 3 now facilitates subsequent edit of data overlaid in the inspection video. If new observations are being entered via the software can3D® in the office, these texts will also be overlaid in the video images.
Utilizing the module work preparation, all project-related data can be entered in advance and independent from the CamMobile® Profi 3. For better orientation, property measurements can be documented and displayed graphically. Surprisingly, measurements can be rendered even more precisely with the affordable GPS receiver supplying georeferenced data.
With the combination of CamMobile® Profi 3, CamFlex® and can3D®, Kummert GmbH offers their customers a user-friendly, flexible and versatile system for the inspection of complex sewer and drain systems.

Positive trade fair response for Kummert GmbH
The leading experts’ meeting in the pipe and sewer industry took place in the documenta city of Kassel from March 19th to 21st, 2009. The 10th Ro-Ka-Tech with 160 exhibiting businesses and a total area of 6,400 m² was met with great success. The Kummert GmbH were also represented with their own stand and showcased their products to interested trade visitors.
The trade stand with a size of 140 m² had a lot to offer to the audience. Two branched test pipe runs were set up to showcase the branch-negotiating camera CamFlex®. Naturally, each visitor also got the chance to demonstrate their abilities. These “self-tests” clearly emphasized the absolutely user-friendly operation of the CamFlex®.
In addition to the test runs, several individual PC workplaces invited visitors to inform themselves about the new software can3D®. Suiting the trade fair’s focus on sewerage systems this year, the new software by Kummert facilitates the documentation and three-dimensional display of pipe runs that, until now, have been known insufficiently or not at all.
The topic “Digital documentation and plan creation of underground pipes with can3D®” was also the title of a lecture given by the company’s founder Bernhard Kummert in the course of the VDRK forum on Thursday afternoon. Once several manufacturers had reported on their systems facilitating the capture of a pipe’s run and its display in 3D, the host inquired about the prices for these inspection systems. Beside the Kummert GmbH, only one other manufacturing company was willing to provide this information. Until then, the opinion of such an inspection system costing a fortune had existed.
The absolute highlight at the Kummert trade stand, however, was the “dance of the branch-negotiating cameras”. This construction entailed a “camera tree” with six installed camera heads, which moved to multiple alternating rhythms and performed something like a camera ballet.
Refreshments were served as well. Over a cool soft drink or a cup of coffee, open questions were answered, industry news was discussed and customer relations were strengthened.
We would like to thank all visitors and hope to see you again at the next Ro-Ka-Tech! And in case you were not able to travel to Kassel, we will also be present at Entsorga in Cologne from 27-30 October 2009.

Kummert Inspektionssysteme present branch-negotiating camera – with complete success

At the IFAT, the 15th International Trade Fair for Water - Sewage - Refuse – Recycling, Kummert Inspektionssysteme presented the new flexible camera CamFlex, designed for inspections of branching pipe systems, along with other product innovations.
Held at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, the world’s largest and most important trade fair for environmental technologies took place from May 5th – May 9th, 2008. More than 2,500 exhibitors showcased their products and services in an exhibition space of 192,000 m². Being one of the leading manufacturers in the field of survey systems for the professional pipe and sewer inspection, Kummert Inspektionssysteme had a representation booth in hall B5.
Besides the well-known, yet still trend-setting devices in the CamMobile line, new product innovations were brought along as well. One of them: the centring trolley with additional lighting, which considerably enhances the range of use for the rotary and pivot cameras K-70 and K-70L due to its improved illuminating capability. Now, even inspections of pipes with diameters up to DN400 are possible.
The biggest attraction at the booth, however, was without a doubt the CamFlex – the camera with turning capabilities made by Kummert Inspektionssysteme. The new vermicular, pipe-bend navigating camera developed for the use in branching pipe systems is deployable for pipe diameters of DN100 and up, and turns into pipe branches in a seemingly effortless manner. Visitors to the booth could see for themselves, how easily this camera could be operated in the specially set-up test track. Virtually everyone was able to turn the camera into the pipe system’s branches of various angles at first go. Concerning the quality of the CamFlex®, the visitors unanimously expressed pure enthusiasm for the straightforward operation of the camera, as well as the unexpected speed and accuracy when turning the camera into a branch.
The enormous variety of interested parties from the most diverse areas within the industry of water and sewage and from different nations, like Brazil, France, India, Denmark, China, etc. proves it again: Kummert Inspektionssysteme is one of the leading manufacturers of video inspection devices in the field of private sewerage systems. We would like thank all our customers and interested parties who displayed such vivid interest in our products and helped to make the IFAT 2008 a complete success!
