Optional extension for the Profi NG
The RTK GPS is an optional extension for the Profi NG and supplements its measuring functions outside buildings.
If the receiver is connected to the proTab, the position can be determined with an accuracy of a few centimeters. All you need is good reception and an internet connection. Good reception means “visual contact” with a certain number of satellites and the internet connection ensures communication with the correction service.
The use of such a service enables high accuracy.
The RTK GPS is attached to the side magnets of the Profi NG and does not require a cable connection as the data is transmitted wirelessly and the receiver is equipped with a rechargeable battery.
The first step, namely defining your own position on the map, is very easy with the RTK GPS. A measuring point is defined with just one click.
The Profi NG is then moved a few meters and the second point is set.
Now both the position and the alignment are set.
The Profi NG's tracking function ensures that you can follow every movement live on the screen.
At the same time, the position of the RTK GPS is updated five times per second, so that deviations between the tracked and measured position can be detected and corrected immediately.
In turn, the Profi NG can also take measurements where the GPS has no chance - under large trees, canopies or in narrow alleyways between buildings.
In addition to the position in the area, the RTK GPS provides height information so that entire projects can be recorded with absolute heights according to DHHN 2016.
