CompactPlus
The CompactPlus should never be operated with an emergency power generator without an overvoltage protection. Otherwise, damage to electronic components may occur.
Generally, if storing the device for a lengthy period, the battery should always be fully charged prior to storing. Furthermore, the CompactPlus must be connected to the mains at least once a month in order to avoid damage to the battery.
Depending on the ambient temperature, as well as the mounted camera, the battery may operate for up to 3 hours. However, at low temperatures, starting at around 5 °C, the battery's capacity decreases, therefore, reducing its operating time.
Photos, videos and projects are saved directly to the USB thumb drive. The supplied 64 GB USB thumb drive offers sufficient storage space and comes already formatted correctly.
Never remove the USB thumb drive during recording as all or part of your data may become damaged.
Profi 3+
The first training lasts approx. one and a half day. We recommend additional training a few weeks later in order to improve and freshen up your knowledge, as well as clarify possible questions or insecurities that have emerged while working with the equipment.

Yes, an external video image (composite video signal) can be fed in via the device's 7-pin socket.
First of all, try another pen to see whether the tablet has any function at all. If not, send the device in for repairs. As a general rule, you should always cover the device in rain to avoid water penetration. The resulting water film can impair the tablet operation.
If this error message appears when trying to export a project, your project contains an inspection that no video has been generated for (no observations have been entered). This inspection must be deleted before exporting anew.
Our videos are being encoded and recorded in MPEG-2 format. Of course they can be exported as MPEG-1 or MPEG-4. This widely-used format is being supported by any conventional software. There are many different formats for MPEG-4 videos, which are not interoperable.
The data volume of MPEG-4 videos in DVD quality is only marginally smaller compared to MPEG-2 videos, and can be disregarded in terms of more and more affordable storage media. One minute of MPEG-2 video requires about 40 MB storage space. Approx. 800 hours of MPEG-2 video can be saved to a 2 TB hard drive (available for approx. 80 €).
Therefore, the storage space for one hour of MPEG-2 video costs just 0.10 €.
The Profi 3 can record videos in three different quality classifications: high, medium and low. The respective selection is made when creating a new project. As a general rule: A higher bit rate makes for a better image quality, a lower one for a smaller file size.
Low quality features a bite rate between 4100 and 5000 Kbit/s, medium quality a rate between 5400 and 6600 Kbit/s and high quality a rate between 6600 and 8300 Kbit/s
Observation texts can be permanently inscribed into the video during final export of your project using the office software can3D®. The option of subsequent text overlay is directly related to the quality the video is being recorded in.
Medium and high video quality allow for subsequent text overlay. However, this option must be checked. If low video quality is being selected, the option for subsequent text overlay is not available.
Your USB thumb drive might use the FAT32 file system. Follow these instructions to reformat the USB thumb drive to the file system NTFS.

The dongle is your authorization/license for using our software can3D® or can2D. We use the dongle WibuKey by the company WIBU-SYSTEMS AG. A WibuKey represents one workstation-license for our software. Network licenses are currently not available.
The WibuKey has to be connected to a USB port on your computer when starting the program. The driver is included on the installation medium and will be installed along with our software.
In rare cases, downloading the most current driver is necessary. To get the driver, go to https://www.wibu.com/downloads-user-software.html. Scroll down to the turquoise headline row WibuKey and select the driver applicable to your operating system.
The Master Key is a USB dongle that provides access to the can3D® Cloud setup. The master key is needed for setting up and maintaining the network environment, managing projects, and assigning users.
On one hand, .NET Framework is basis for the Microsoft application development system to program Windows applications. On the other hand, .NET Framework provides the system files, which are necessary to run programs developed under .NET.
More and more programs utilize Microsoft .NET Framework. The software can3D® is such a program and can only be run if .NET Framework (version 4.0 or higher) is installed on the PC. By the way, .Net Framework is already installed on PCs with operating systems Windows 7 or 8 and will not have to be repeated when installing can3D®.
No. At first glance, there are, of course, many functions and options for use, but the application is just as simple for an inspection with an axial camera or a pan and tilt camera.
With just a few mouse clicks, you can burn DVD's and print reports as well as alter and complete observations. If you would like to edit a 3D pipe network and insert plans, all you need is a good training and a bit of routine.
A larger project requires several CD's/DVD's when being burned. To do so, the correct start number has to be selected in the export form.

Medium and high video quality allow for subsequent text overlay. However, this option must be checked. If low video quality is being selected, the option for subsequent text overlay is not available.
The speed of the subsequent text overlay depends on the components of your computer, with the processor being the crucial factor. We carried out various tests and achieved the following results:

Crawler
The crawler F-100 is kept leak-tight through the mounted camera. Please refer to the FAQs Cameras on how to raise or lower the internal pressure of the respective camera.
For an overview on the F-100's pipe bend mobility in regards to various wheel sizes, click here.
Via internal pressure. The internal pressure can be adjusted with an air pump and monitored via the display on the Studio monitor. Alternatively, a compressor can be used, or the crawler can be charged with nitrogen.
Generally, pressure rises by 100 mbar per every meter water column. As long as the crawler's internal pressure remains higher than the pressure exerted by the water column, the crawler will be leak-tight.
We, therefore, recommend to keep the internal pressure between 500 mbar and 1400 mbar.
Two sets of wheel spacers are supplied with the crawler F-200. To help keep the crawler in the invert, the 25 mm spacers should be used in pipes of DN300 and up, the 45 mm spacers should be used in pipes of DN500 and up.
The pulley guides the cable from the top of the manhole into the pipe and keeps it away from the manhole walls, as well as sharp edges, thus protecting the cable against abrasions. However, this only works correctly, when the pulley is placed directly above the pipe to be inspected.
The tolerance value is 0,1°.
Cameras
All reels and cameras are basically interchangeable. However, it is easy to understand that not every combination is ideal. The cameras are of different weights and are used in pipes of varying sizes. During inspection, the best mixture of thrust and smooth navigation through pipe bends is always wanted. So, the narrower the pipe and the lighter the camera, the thinner and more flexible the rod should be.
Recommended camera-reel-combinations:
DN40 and up -> K-28 with fixed reel
DN50 and up -> K-35 with reel H-S
DN70 and up -> K-50 with reel H-M
DN100 and up -> K-70 with reel H-L
DN100 and up -> CamFlex® with reel H-XL
Via internal pressure. The internal pressure can be adjusted with an air pump and monitored using the display on the base unit's screen.
You can use the cameras up to a depth of 10 m, i.e. up to an external pressure of 1 bar. The pan and tilt camera K-70 must be filled with an internal pressure of 1 bar.
Readings are accurate to approx. 2-3 mm.
Compared to a conventional TV inspection, only a minimum of additional work is required. Once you are somewhat experienced in the use of the CamFlex®, the process of recording measurements and navigating into a branch takes about 30 seconds (incl. data entry).
Naturely, you can just navigate into a branch, but considering the fact how little time recording measurements takes and which conclusive results can thus be achieved, it is more reasonable to always record the measurements.
If the CamFlex® is connected to the Profi 3, two buttons for adjusting the white balance appear in the camera tab – buttons „M“ and „A“. By default, the CamFlex® is set to automatically adjust the white balance.
When surveying colored pipes, color deviations may occur in recordings. By manually adjusting the white balance, the ambient colors are supposed to appear correct. By simply aiming the camera at a white background, its color value is being frozen. For instance, hold a white piece of paper in front of the camera and then, push the button „M“. It is important that no other light source shines onto the background and distorts the color values.
When the white balance is being adjusted automatically, color values of the current environment are being used.
